Hit the lake with the kids today, wasn't planning on doing any fishing, I brought their Barbie pole so they could pull out some sunnies if they got bored of swimming.
So my daughter is pulling in this small pancake sized sunny, when all of a sudden out of the depths a huge bass starts tailing it as she's bringing it in!
We had put some small ones in a bucket so they could look at them for awhile before we let them go.
After they left, I realized I had 1 larger sized hook in their wee tackle box. It have me an idea.
So I hooked one of the teeny sunnies through the lip, and threw it out there - and that sunny knew it was doomed.
Within seconds the huge bass is on it, and after watching it flutter on the surface for a bit, it inhaled that sucker. I waited, then hauled back on that teeny rod so hard I thought it would snap!
I definitely had him good, but the bastard ran under the dock and snapped that 4lb test in no time. I was laughing so damn hard, but just a little mad I couldn't have posted a pic of THAT on here today !
