Thursday morning a buddy and I hit a reservoir with a nice variety of fish. We stayed there for about 2 hours. My buddy was throwing mostly live minnows but wasn't getting a single tap. A few lures I tried included SSR07 SH, SR07 SH, SSR05 SD, and XR08 P. I wasn't having any luck in the area I was fishing until I saw small bait jumping out of the water in a quiet bay. I went over there and stuck with a SSR07 SH. I was getting lots of largemouths and smallmouths following it. Did catch a 9" largemouth and chubby 16" smallie. Kept on getting some hits on the surface while twitching it and jerking it. I wasn't having any more luck after catching the largemouth so I checked on my buddy to see how he was doing. He still hadn't caught anything. I gave the SSR a few more tries over by my buddy and had a hit. Nothing else after that so we hit the road.
