Was just thinking that it would be a good idea to give the contest a more prominent position - especially when it starts new each month. Also to have a separate thread with the finalists so that it's easier for folks to see who they are voting for.
Keep up the good work - and yes it is appreciated. Where else is there somewhere like this on the web? A place that makes you feel at home and folks talk nice to each other.

Blessings, Nigel Nigel - thanks for the info - usually I would place this stuff at the top of the site, but I didnt want people to have to scroll down to get to the meat of the site, which is the forum. That is why you'll notice all of the promotional stuff is at the bottom of the site, so its easier for people (less scrolling) - although I may post the winner at the top of the site, along with the contest for next month, not sure what lure it is going to be yet. I may post several different pictures for people to use next time for their 'inspiration', instead of just one or two. And thanks for the kind words about the site - yes actually, I haven't given it much thought, but you are right, things are very civil and friendly around here. We hadn't had many issues with members around here, with perhaps maybe the exception of one, who always seemed to reply to people with smart-ass answers. I know he had rubbed a lot of people the wrong way, myself included, but maybe he got the hint and hasn't been around in awhile. There's not many rules around here, but one thing I will not tolerate is disrespecting other members. We are a unique international brotherhood here, if I may say so, and I'll do anything I can to keep it that way. No one person is bigger than the site, and that includes myself. I get humbled when I hear such positive posts, and when I think things aren't going well, its comments like that that revitalize me and keep me going. |
