Was out with a buddy today to try for a few smallies. We managed 6, 4 for me and 2 for my buddy( new member- flyfisherman) It was another excellent fall day on the lake which is supposed to disappear next year when the govt removes the causeway and replaces it with a bridge. It will be the end of the bass but the river will again flow free and after many years most of the original species should return like salmon and stripers. Pics will be posted when my camera gets charged up. I may have caught the most but certainly not the biggest. All were caught on cd's. My buddies is a 15 yr old one marked Ireland. I dont think they are in the pics.

So they're getting around to taking out the causeway, hunh? As sad as it might be to lose the lake, I think it'll be a good thing to wash away that mud on the other side. I'm going to have to get back down there and check it out once it's flowing again...ever since I can remember that causeway has always been there. When we were kids we'd canoe on that lake all the time...
Oh well, I'm sure the moose will appreciate not getting stuck in the mud flats...

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! ;D Construction season...hahahaha!!!!
Hey Steve, good bow hunter story for ya...last week a buddy of mine who's an outfitter was telling me about this guy who bagged a moose out here...first off, he shot it from the ground, no tree stand. Todd called it to about 35 feet. The hunter was so good, the moose never saw him. Anyhew, double lung shot with a bow at 35 feet, and the rack was 58 inches...not bad!!! You have to have some serious guts to draw a bow on a moose at 35 feet and not flinch...
Ok, so back to fishing stuff...unfortunately, it's starting to ice up a bit here...I guess I'm done until late May now...WAH!!!!!! That's one thing that'll always annoy me about living out here...man, the season is too short!

Man that shoreline sure looks promising...no doubt in my lake its gotten cold enough to send the bass into deeper water. Im looking forward to getting out and trolling deep a couple more times before the year is out...I guess a 'southern boy' like me is lucky in that regard!

I can always go for cooler weather in the hot summer. Rather be in Anchorage instead of hot humid 80s in July.

Thats awesome A friend of mine hunted up there a few years ago shot a wolf at 3 yards with his long bow.The wolf had no idea death was lurking that close to him. Personally I would have went up the tree. Not that I would be scared , heck I jumped out of airplanes on nights that were black as the ace of spades ,but I would'nt want to get tore up.Those wolves are HUGE!!!!!

Same here. That's why I'd rather be in Alaska that time of the year. I hate the weather in Florida.

well the way I look at it, the seasons in Ontario are changing. I think we are down to three seasons WINTER, SPRING and FALL. I don't know what happened with SUMMER ??
