Ahh the good ole' DNR In the past few years there have been countless reports of Mountain Lions here in the UP of Michigan. When one would be reported to the DNR their response was ah thats non-sense there are no big cats here. Its probably someones pet that got loose. ;)First off who in the hell would want one for a pet. This picture was taken near Munising,Michigan on one of those trail cameras so unless the owner of these cats let them loose for a stroll What are they doing here over a deer carcass I wonder what they said about this one.

DNR? What's that mean? Division of Natural Resources? I'm waiting for someone to get mauled by one so maybe they'll admit they exist in NJ too...

People get mauled by those things all the time out here . I saw one not to long ago . Man the tail on that thing was at least 6 feet if not more .

I'm more likely to get mauled by a bear first personally....

Glad we dont have those joker's here in FL. I've lived here all my life and have seen 2 black panther's, but they'd rather run from you than mess with you.

Here in Michigan DNR is our Department of Natural Resources.
I have heard nothing but bad things about these cats.I know they like to sneak up on you from behind.
Since the wolves have made a come back here I always carry a sidearm when I'am in the bush and now we are getting these things.
I rather face a wolf then one of these big cats.

sounds like wisconsins DNR, there is several people that have seen or heard big cats(actually, mountain lions are the largest member of the small cats, its not a big cat) and they DNR will tell you there are none in WI. Even when THEY tranq one IN wisconsin, they have excuses. i wish i was making it up. story in the paper over the summer about a lion they tranq'ed in a tree in north western wi, about 100 miles from MN, they left to give it time to fall asleep and fall out of the tree, when they returned with the land owner, the cat was gone. in their offical statment the DNR said that they were suprised to see one this far east, and even though they had lost it, they were sure it was already most of the way back to the black hills, were it came from. THE BLACK HILLS, IN THE DAKOTA'S!!!! REALLY, ARE YOU KIDDIN ME!! they did the same thing when we all started to see bears and wolves, denied that there were any in this area, and that we were all seeing things. turns out they brought the damn things here on purpose, only to deny they were here. i dont mind the bears, but we have a 3 S rule about wolves. the 3 S's?? Shoot, Shovel, Shut up. The DNR has pissed me off as of late, but most of the hunters in the state feel the same way. end rant bacon

yeah, tracking collars could be tricky i suppose, we've always joked that if we 'ran' into one, just cut it off, take it to the nearest truck stop and toss it on top of an out bound truck. let them chase that around for a while. yeah, the bs factor is pretty high here too, not quite to the point where i wont buy a liscense anymore, but its getting close. someday i might get sick of them and just fill the freezer when i want and dont worry about it anymore. that is if there are any deer left when they get done with them. bacon
