...can I catch fish with tomorrow? My Dad lives on 40 acres in upstate NY, and he has a 2 acre pond on it that he never fishes. On certain days it's like shooting fish in a barrel! Tomorrow I'm curious to find out many Rapalas I can catch fish with tomorrow, I hope the crankbait bite is on!

Just make sure that you try some of those that you've never caught anything on -- like the X-Rap

Well yesterday I wanted to see how many different Rapalas I could catch bass on at my Dad's pond. It would have went better, but after awhile, I realized they did not want anything but Silver. But did manage one on a perch Flat Rap: Then one on a Xrap Shallow Shad, size8 in Silver: Then one on a SSR-9 in Silver: Then this one on a CD-11 in Silver: After awhile I wasn't getting hits on anything, so I went back to the XRSH-8, and I'm glad I did! Especially thanks to this fish! The fish of the day - that made driving 6 hours yesterday (almost) worth it! I made my daughter stand next to the fish to give it some scale! I think I know who the new fisherman in the family is going to be! ;D My 'abridged' tackle selection for the trip! I can tell you it's been ages since I used a typical 3 tray tackle box! Also my sister was there with her kids, so my nephews kept harassing me to use my lures. Of course they wanted to go with all of the flashiest colors, they hadn't gotten a bass all day, just a few sunnies each. After I was able to successfully remove my XR-10 in Silver from the fountain that my nephew hooked a few casts later I made myself actually sound like I knew what I was talking about My nephew Jake, bass on XR-10 S: All in all it was a good day, except for all of the brutal traffic driving back from the Catskills! I told my wife we are not going up there on a Sunday again...

Looks like you had a good outing, some nice bass. That tackle box looks overloaded, makes decisions more difficult on what to use

Great Pics Ted I like the bass on the Super Shad You're giving me way too much credit! That's a SSR-9! And I knew that someday the XRSH-8 would finally pull its weight, its too good looking a lure to be a 'Rapala Slacker'

The golf course I enjoy fishing has original farm ponds on it that are pretty small and no deeper than 10 ft. The 1 Rapala that I have killed bass with there is the SSR. Size 7 has always been the right one. Happy to see you were successful with the SSR9. Great job.
