I'll start off with the ugly - the weather.

I was out of most of the rain for the most part, but the wind was something awful today...

The canoe was blowing around in circles at times, and trying to troll was impossible. I didn't get anything trolling today

Another fall fishing hazard - stupid leaves everywhere

The good: finally nailed some on one of Steve's customs! ;D
First cast!

2nd cast:

I had another few casts later, but didn't land him

Now for the bad :'(

Now I know what people have been saying about the lips on these DTs...

The other bad part was not getting another single fish for the next 3 hours

But I'm glad I nailed that first bass on one of Steve's baits, totally made my day! ;D

I guess I weakened it enough to the point for it to break later on

You would think they could do some sort of metal or wire reinforcement in there, but I guess that would just jack up the price

nope, that ones toast im afraid.
i know i have talked to other guys that have sent broken lip lures back to rapala and had them replaced, not sure what kind of luck you would have with a custom painted one. i have never tried to send them a broken lip, mostly because i have as much luck with originals with a lip as the ones without. if the lip breaks or cracks, i just make sure to break it all off. wont help you much with a dt though i fear. nice while it lasted at least. cool custom too steve.
