well, just got back from my local rapala haunt(get it, holloween, lol) ok, enough foolishness, on to the good stuff. my wife has been wanting one of those rapala supertanker mugs, so we got her one of those, then we spot the new stuff, she found, and bought a rapala (lure cluster) glass cutting board, yeah, she wants it for the kitchen. i picked up a rapala aluminum water bottle, done up in baby bass pattern, its pretty cool. also pick up a pack of rapala thirsty stone ceramic coasters, 4 of them each with a ficticious tavern name on it, one is the sundown saloon with the small mouth like the beer glasses. the others are new, but they just used the classic catalog covers of the brown trout, walleye, and largemouth bass for the others. i hope this means that there are 3 new beer glasses coming out. i have a huge pile of the first 2 still around, but would be willing to buy new ones at least for the cupboard. other items of note, the rapala playing cards and dice set, key rack, a lunker bin (large tin pail, about 10 gallons, for icing down a case of beer presay), new coffee mug set, new shot glasses, and i think there are a few things im missing too. also in an intresting note, while checking out the rapala tools section, i found a new rapala brand lure charger, its a lure sized pod that you close around your lure, and it shines several LED lights on it to charge a glowing lure, makes me wonder if we are going to start seeing glowing rap colors in the next year aswell. on the lure section, i found that several trolls to shad 15 and 20 were in, and the trolls to minnows 15 and 20 also, but no thugs yet, and i forgot(sorry) to check for the CNR-6's were in. but i did manage to find some glidin raps, SSR-14 SD, DTMSS-20, and a whole stack of other raps all on sale 20% off, so i did get a few. stopped in for 2 lures, ended up going on a rapala shopping spree.
i know how this store works, they color code there clearance lures, this time around the purple tag is 20%, as more lures get put on sale, they replace the newer items with a different color, and the the purple will go to 35% off, then to 50%, then to 70%, imi hoping that there will still be some good raps on the rack when it hits 50% off so i can clean up, but they are some of the first to go, but it is winter, or at least it feels like it, so who knows, maybe some will still be there when the better sales finally roll around, maybe next time im there i will hide a few of them behind the regular rap isle and see if the make it that long. i dont know why they were clearing alot of them out, some they still had in general population at full price, with some of the same exact thing with a purple tag, maybe just an inventory reduction, i hope not, otherwise i will be kicking myself for not buying ever glidin rap, and every DT-20.
