It doesn't as often I would like but I'm going fishing today ;D ;D I'm actually going with a family friend and her daughter and having to leave my oldest boy (Eldan) at home and get home earlier than I would have liked to attend his 'Patish' - it's a Hebrew acronym for 'Opening the Year'. It's a combination of activities, kind of like a small version of an army obstacle course, to start their Bar Mitzvah year. It's traditional on the kibbutz. Anyway, I shall be going late morning and should be able to spend about 4 hours [sea] fishing off the rocks of Herzlia Marina (near Tel Aviv). Will post some pics Nigel

Wasn't one of the best days at all But I still enjoy getting out even if I don't catch anything First of all the weather was terrible - hot and sunny This is November and it's meant to be the beginning of winter Anyway, with the really 'nice' weather there were tons of people at the beach and tons of those really annoying ski-jets that make so much noise in the water that even if there were any fish they would have been scared off. Nasty horrible annoying Ski-Jets View from the beach What is it with Israelis that they have to park on the beach But to end with a good photo - here is one of our friend's daughter fishing without a care in the world No, we didn't catch anything. Nearly though, Tiltan had a small one jump off the hook as she lifted it out of the water and another that took her hook, line and float in amongst the rocks - we ended up breaking the line trying to persuade it to come out Still enjoyed the day though

Nice place to fish there.
And the weather is better than here in Germany.
Rain cold wind. But the fish are here.

Actually it's a small reservoir that we use for irrigating the kibbutz fields but it doubles as a swimming pool. Fresh deep well water every day Anyway, some Saturday mornings I get there early (before they open it) and practice techniques with my Rapalas. The water is clear and I actually enjoy it Of course there are no fish there but then I don't seem to catch anything in the sea anyway so I might as well enjoy myself without nasty horrible Jet-Skis and the hassle of finding a parking space
