Anybody seen this before: Sliding Hook Method I found it here: www.salmonfishingforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14416&page=3and it's description: Here's the way i rig up a rapala. Make a hole in the vane of the rapala with a hot nail. Put the nylon thru the nose ring(bend slightly depending on bank your fishing. The rest is obvious by looking at the pic. remove the 3 hooks and split rings(its handy to weigh these parts) Place larger hook on seperate swivel/split ring set up. any weight difference between the new swivel/split ring/hook make up by using lead wire and twist this on to the tail ring. Somebody else added: Aye, thats the sliding hook method alright, mind usualy dont put it through a split ring just the u wire on the rapala then attatched to a split ring, either way though. Martin has explained therest about bending the nose and adding weight as and if required. Usually use this method on anything above 7cm when fishig a single treble. If fishing anything below this size then dont usually fish this way as the rapala attatched straight to the line ive found is ok. Any thoughts?

Interesting.....yet it sure seems like a lot of work and a pain in the ass to do. I noticed it was on a salmon fishing board, that's not a problem for me...but I could see where on a lure that light (I think that's a F-11) all those modifications would cause it to run incorrectly. They are tested with the trebles on... I think...

Seen this type of slide riggin on other custom lures for lake- and seatrout fishing too. Maybe the wide known on the market (with a similar sliding design) are the JPlugs or Tomics. Sliding coast wobblers for seatrout an cod are based on the same technique. BTW: A couple of years go I had huge problems with the kickin minnow in breaking caused in bigger fishes or just snaggin somewhere. First thing I thought ... s**t Then I decide to make a flexible and nearly unbreakable connection to the trebles and it works better than the Storm plastic crap.
