I hit one of usual fishing grounds Sunday. I moved around from pond to pond. Lures I played around with included SSR-5 P, SSR-7 SH, JSR-4 SD, DTFAT-3 S, F-7 B, J-9 S, and J-7 S. I was surprised to have no luck at one spot where I kept on seeing lots of fish scatter. At the area of the pond I was catching the pickerel last time with the J-9 S I only had 1 hit on the surface while twitching the lure. At another pond I had a hit on the SSR-5 P. For the final 10 minutes of fishing I hit a spot at one of the ponds that has lots of weeds and pads during the summer. I saw about 90% of the weeds and pads were gone so I decided to lightly twitch the J-7 S on the surface close to some of the remaining lily pads. That resulted in 5 hits on the surface and 2 largemouths (10" and 13") all within my last 10 minutes of fishing.
