Shimano taken over Rapala?

I just saw this on a British tackle website:

SHIMANO HAVE TAKEN OVER RAPALA- THEY ARE A NIGHTMARE WITH STOCK, to avoid dissapointment we have taken them off the site until they improve.

What's going on? Is Rapala Rapala or Shimano? Will we start seeing changes that will affect us fishermen/gals?

shimano is the distribution third party, for rapala but they dont seem to send reps out to the fishing shops, so are store is all old stock in fact i have more lures than they do, but they are not taken over by shimano
