After spending about 2 1/2 hours of catching no fish on lures and worms on the bottom I hit my hot spot for the last 45 minutes of my day Wednesday. Decided to stick with a SSR-7 SH since I already had it on. 2 retrieves I was doing with it were lightly twitching it on the surface and giving it a jerk on the surface then let it sit for a second or 2. The twitching made me lose a bass and then caught me what I'd say was the same 12" 1 pound largemouth I lost. Later I saw a splash and decided to start casting the SSR out there. First cast while doing the jerk and pause retrieve I saw a crappie come shooting out for the lure. After it came shooting out the first time I paused the lure and then started twitching it. The crappie came shooting out another 2 more times but missed it. Next cast while twitching the SSR on the surface finally caught me a 10" crappie.
So the SSR did it for me again with a fall calico.
