A friend and I went ice fishing Wednesday and all we did was jigged instead of getting set up with tip ups. I stuck with a W5 GT which is my best ice fishing jigging lure. Didn't even need to put any bait on it and caught 2 bass, 1 14" pickerel, a fat 12" perch, 6" bluegill, chubby 8" pumpkinseed, and a tiny 4 or 5 inch perch perfect for pike bait. Did have a few hits while dead sticking it and lost what I thought was a nice pickerel when it went under the ice just before getting it to the hole.

I live in CT and all lakes and ponds upstate have ice ranging from 6 to 10 inches. A few lakes and ponds in the central part of the state are safe but some others farther south still either aren't safe or totally covered. I went out ice fishing today but had no luck with the W5 GT and only had 1 flag with no fish on.
