Fished a tournament today (1-30-10) and really wore the fish out on the Crappie DT6 by Joe's customs, I won on here a few month's ago! Kinda weird thanking another painter for such a great job but besides' looking good enough to hang on the wall this joker flat out caught fish today! That is until I lost it! I had a little backlash and the wind was really howling. Well I had a little line in the water and partner ran over it trying to keep up from hitting stumps. Time we figured it out the rapala was gone.....

Well, I started out this year with a good sack on Lake Rousseau. Man the weather was hell today but we managed to pull 15lb's out of it! This was a West Hernando bass club tournament. My partner was a buddy of mine who I custom paint lure's for. I have several good spot' s I hit year round. We hit the first one and someone was parked right in it! Went to the next spot, and buddy it was on. Crankbait bite was incredable! I started out fishing a trap painted like a golden shiner. I picked up a few dink's and partner picked up a nice 3lber. Then we move out into a little deeper water and I started throwing a dt6 with the crappie pattern. Caught 4 keeper's in 20 cast..! Biggest was about 5lbslbs, all on the DT. Culled a few more before hitting the next spot. We were coasting up to the 3rd spot and started hitting log's so we killed the motor and trolled in the stumps. First cast with the golden shiner trap and I could have swore I hung a log! I gave it a good tug and buddy that log was a hog! She had to be between 8-10lbs! She came out of the water one more time and spit my trap out! Almost did a Ike....lol... Anyway we came in second and got first big bass with a 5lber.. Kinda small for rousseau but considering we had 20 other rousseau experienced fisherman fishing against us I think we did pretty good....

Man, its nice to see some fresh caught fish. I was out snowblowing this morning trying to clear up the latest 10"

maybe i will try the DT when the river colours. nice looking bass
