Scent on your rapalas?

What do you guys think about using scent on your rapalas?

I have never personally put scent on any of my Rapalas but I suppose it couldn't hurt to try.It may be the thing that triggers fish to bite it that day.

Oh, I personally thing that that guy is obnoxious and I turn off any video the second I know he's in it. I feel the same way about John Gillespie.

I put scent on my Rapalas, Spinnerbaits, Topwaters and I even give a quick shot to jigs. The main reason I do this is to cover up any foul or undesireable smells that may have been on my hands. Any of you fill your boat with gasoline before you head out? ANY slight smell on your hands could transfer to your lure.

Reason #2 I put scent on my baits if for added attraction. Remember fish first FEEL the bait (using their lateral line), then they HEAR the bait, then the SEE the bait and lastly, they SMELL and TASTE the bait.
Scent may not initially attract the fish, but it may help seal the deal.

One last comment about scent. I'm not 100% sure if it makes much difference, but I DO "match the hatch" when putting on scent. For instance, if I'm using a Rapala that looks like a shad or any other "minnow" such as Firetiger, then I'll use GULP's minnow scent.
While if I'm using a jig or even a Rapala that has a crawfish pattern, then I use GULP's crawfish scent.
Like I said, I'm not sure if it makes a difference, but it gives me more confidence and having confidence in the bait you're throwing will only help you catch fish in the long run.

I use a scent when im ripping for browns . Its a mix of garlic and Trophy trout sauce . Man it stinks LOL .

I don't what effect scent really has, but whenever my girlfriend catches more fish than me I blame it on the fact she smells better than me!! lol
