Got my first non-infant bass today!! I went out for about an hour and a half before dark. Got a bluegill with my j9 hot tiger on my third cast, but nothing much after that for a while. Then I had a nice bass hit my f5 hesh right in front of me, but he came right off!!
After that I had nothing up until it was dark. Right before I left I decided to try a black buzzbait with a black grub trailer. A guy I met last year on the lake had given it to me and recommended it as a great night bait. Don't know why I thought to try it today but I did. On my first cast with it I caught a 1.5-2lb bass. He smashed it too and was hooked about as good as you can hook a fish!! That's only my second ever fish with a buzzbait, but that's definitely a scenario in which I will try that again!!
