I was fishing over the weekend at a local river. I had caught 2 large suckers with a CD9 FM. I later went further down river looking for a steelhead or coho. On the next cast. I smacked a tree with the lure and broke the lip and a small chunk off the front. I still cast it out and started to twitch when a small coho slammed the bait. unfortunatly the fish took me in a log jam where I lost the fish and the lure. Exciting and sad- that was my favorite go to lure. oh well i guess i wil have to go shopping for a couple more.

i think that's really interesting, maybe the lip got broken in a way that didn't kill the action of the lure

Whenever the lip of many Rapalas break, it's still good to use them by twitching. I've had history with breaking lips on F's and SSR's. All I do is twitch them lightly on the surface and those fish come up for it.

in some lakes around there they hot bend the lips on f models so they are good for topwater fishing

Seriously though I know how it feels to lose a lure you can't find anymore. I'll definitely keep an eye out for you. If you can't find one for too long, we have a bunch of very talented members and sponsors who paint customs. Maybe someone could recreate one for you.

I got to thinking about this and I know that there are gardening tools with a long extendable pole with the ability to attach a pair of pruning shears (operated by a cord). Cheaper, and a lot less noise than a chainsaw
