Took my 12 year old fishing Thursday evening to a small stretch of [sort of] rocky coastline just north of Herzlia called Sydney Alley. If you click the 'Path to the Rocks' you will see a photo of the old Crusader jetty. Anyway, in the Mediterranean Sea there is not a very great change in the tide - usually about 40cm; but that evening there was a really big difference and we went fishing at the lowest tide that I've ever seen. My boy said that there was more water in the kibbutz's baby pool! Needless to say we didn't catch anything but I learned a lot The tide in the Med. is affected only slightly by the moon and probably more affected by atmospheric pressures - it's really quite complicated (I Googled a bit). Anyway, next time I'm checking the local tides on the Internet before I go fishing
