Hello again, I will be using my pontoon boat on the Bow river here very soon and would like to troll with a Rapala as I float downstream. The river is no more then a couple of feet deep at certain points so I am wondering what Rapala to use? I was thinking a floating but I am not sure how deep they go. I need something that will stay at the top while being dragged slowly. All info welcome.

The Original floater is a good choice. The new Flat Rap would be another choice, with its small lip it dives to about 2 to 4 feet and has a ton of action.

It will not be a very fast retrive by any means, so you think it would stay around the 2' range?

Don't know if a jointed works well while trolling, but it stays even more shallow than an original floater. If you reel that thing as fast as you can it still never gets deeper than 2ft!!

This might sound odd as the lure is designed for casting but the Max-Rap runs at just 1-2 feet. I'm sure you could slow troll it with good success. Max-Rap

X-Rap Shad Shallow, Shallow Shad Rap, DTFAT, and DTFT are 4 I can think of. DTFAT and DTFT 1 and 3. Shallow Shad Rap in size 5 would be your best bet for not going too deep.
