Wednesday I hit a lake in the area to check out my special crappie spot. Tried twitching a SSR-7 SD on the surface around that area but had no luck. Worked my way along the shore of the lake there and caught a nice 14" 1.4 pound rainbow trout. Had one other nice hard hit. Later worked my way to an area where there's a calm area of water between the lake and the main river. Saw a few breaks on the surface so I casted out into that area. Pretty soon I was getting tons of hits and catching trout. I caught a total of 18 trout in that one area which included 3 browns, 6 brookies, and 9 rainbows. Caught all of them with the SSR-7 SD. One of the brook trout was 1.2 pounds and is my new personal best brook trout. The total of the day was 19 trout which is now my new record of number of trout caught on 1 trip. The SSR-7 I caught all of those on was the same one I caught the 3.8 pound rainbow trout on. SHALLOW SHAD RAP HAS DONE IT AGAIN!!!!! Attachments:
