Topwater Smallmouths

A buddy and I hit a lake in his boat Tuesday morning planning on working the shady, shallow areas along rocks and walls. My buddy was using some sort of floating worm doing a twitching a jerking retrieve while I stuck with a SSR-9 CW. I was doing my jerk and pause retrieve with the SSR and was into the smallies pretty soon My buddy had a few hits, lost 1, and caught a sallmouth. As we moved along I was getting lots of hits on the surface and was catching a few smallmouths up to 2 pounds. At our last stop my buddy decided to switch over to a SP-7 S. He had a few hits on the surface and caught a smallie. I caught another 2 smallmouths and a largemouth.

Our total was my buddy 2 smallmouths and me 6 smallmouths and 1 largemouth. Mine were all on the Shallow Shad Rap.
