thanks mate, you know of any good lures for perch, i've only ever caught em effectively on bait (free-lined lobworm). Bait fishing kinda bores me, i can't just sit there waiting for a fish to bite, i'd much rather catch perch on lures, especially as perch are my favourite fish.

My favorite Rapalas for perch is: Rapala Fat rap 5 cm SFC Rapala Shad Rap Shallow 7 cm FT Rapala X-rap Shad 6 cm CLN
But basically any (smaller) Rapala Lure works for perch, I even caugth a couple of them on the Super Shad Raps.
You just have to find out what works in your water.

I don't target perch directly, but I have caught some nice size ones while fishing for bass. Believe it or not most of what I have caught on Rapalas have been on small (size 5 or 7) glass shad raps and jointed shad raps, usually in some perch pattern. The Yellow Perch where I fish must be highly cannibalistic during certain seasons, preying on the young of their own kind's year class.

The perch are weird in my lake - I almost always catch at least one when I am targeting bass, but never 2 in the same day out. Each time Ive got one was on:
Shallow Fat Rap Silver Shad Rap SR-7 Chrome Perch DT-Thug in OPSD Crankin Rap CRR05 in Silver Minnow Rap MR-9 in Silver
etc etc...
My guess is that Team Eskos, SR-5s, SSR-5s, XR-8s HJ-8s would all probably work well, in Perch, Silver, FT, and Clown colors...

spinners work well here for perch, but you need tiny little things, and to be honest, i can't be arsed with flicking out tiny little spinners just a couple of yards, because by the time i've got em spinning, they're virtually into the bank anyway. jigs work well for the bigger perch, but i've only ever caught 1 BIG perch, which was an estimated 3lb+ on a lamprey deadbait. However, i have caught a large chub on a 6in storm wildeye roach, which was a surprise!
