Can someone help me out here. On the Rapala lure boxes the name of the lure is printed along with it's weight and swimming depths. It is usually in the form: 7'-14'. The two numbers -- is the first one the swimming depth for casting and the second for trolling?

no, i think it means the lure will run anywhere between those 2 numbers, so your lure will run at a minimum of 7', but a maximum of 14'. hope this helps

^your correct. It also depends on the line. A rapala tacklebox guide will help lots. (I wish they made a new one)

if i remember correctly it depends on the line, and is usually measured at a 30 mt (or yds?) of distance from the shore with a 3 knots (or how they write it) speed; speed and distance also depends on the lure
