I just got back from a week in South Carolina. My sister was going and someone backed out, which left an entire 3 bedroom condo empty and paid for, so my girl and I went instead. After the last two months I've had dealing with my Dad passing, I needed a vacation anyway, even if it wasn't intended to be a fishing trip.
I finally found somewhere to fish about the fifth day there. We were visiting with a friend of my sister down there, but she was clueless to alot more than fishing locations.
We met some friend of hers at a bar one night though, and one guy had a little pond behind his house that he allowed me to fish on the next day.
Of course we all got completely hammered that night so my only fishing opportunity of the trip certainly didn't happen early in the morning. When I finally did get there, it was worth it though.
I put on a shallow shad rap 7 in blue gill, and got one on my second cast. It was a 4lb 1oz bass.
I know to some people that isn't much but in Jersey we don't have the monsters some of you do. I have some pics that I will put up as soon as I figure out how.
I didn't get mush else, but did have a monster smash my silver DT fat1, that got off. I think he may have been well over 5lbs, but it just wasn't to be! That was my first experience with the Fat 1 and so far I am impressed.
