Water looks quite clear, is that why you used the vibrax?

How are you filming and fishing at the same time? Thats quite a skill... the camera is mounted on my cap (hatcam) so hands free all you need to do is record, im fishing the river camel and fowey in cornwall, the fish i lost in the clip was a salmon about 6lb, i chose the vibrax because i wanted a blade that makes little noise as it hits the water as the water is very low, but most my seatrout and some salmon are on the countdown 5,7 or 9 depending on river hight and season, mostly silver, ssh, fire minnow, gfr, and minnow, and if you have not used team esko or xrap then try them i think they will prove great for salmon and seatrout, already had my first salmon on the esko golden rainbow trout

Do you find you have much success in these condtions? I am fairly new to the Salmon and Sewin fishing, this is my 4th season. I am still yet to catch a salmon, although I hooked one last week that got stuck round a sunken tree. Doh!! Lure was my last CD7 HSH. Doh again!! My best Sewin to date is 6.5lb taken on blue spotted minnow. I find the Sewin love blue. What are your thoughts? Will dig out a photo to post later. Cheers

hi, yes i fish all conditions, you still catch salmon on small lures or shrimp bait, shrimping is my favorite method, you fish the river for big seatrout but we get a few big fish here ive been doing this now for 30 yrs, my best ever seatrout is 9lb , salmon 21lb both on rapala, remember with salmon spin slower than you would for seatrout, but i also fish after dark with fly and worm but mostly early morning

They are big fish for such small rivers.. javascript:add('%20 %20') Do you think i should use 7s and 9s on the rivers i fish, because they are larger rivers? Or is a 5 always best when low and clear? I also fish fly and worm when the conditions allow, but the salmon are still evading me..javascript:add('%20 %20')

the seatrout on the fowey river run larger than the camel fish, its all to do with the seatrout genetics, we did a study using scale readings, i think there was 5 types of seatrout in the uk some are long living and slow growing some short life and grow large, your rivers and the fowey have fast growing, i know your rivers ive fished some and seen others , as a kid i lived in south wales, low water , small lures 5 or 7, back end of the season or high water 9cm and flying c's, 4/5 size blade , are winter run of salmon can bring fish up to and above 30lb but very rare, mostly 5-12 fair chance of 12-15lb then a few 15-20lb. are season runs up to 15 dec, best time is oct-dec ,i do well on shrimp in these low waters, i will try to film what i do on the head cam, may help you. when fished right its a killer.
