Got an opportunity to fish this past Sunday morning on Lake Winnebago in the Fond du Lac/Oshkosh Wisconsin area. It's known as a walleye lake, but my father-in-law and myself were targeting bass on the western shoreline. Lots of other anglers out, but they were all anchored offshore targeting lake perch with live bait. Sunday was a very windy day up there, lots of wave action. This extremely hot and wet Midwest summer this year had the shallow muddy bottomed lake overflowing with vegetation. Threw some Rapalas when I could, DT fat 01 in parrot & shallow x-rap in perch, but it was an exercise in frustration picking weeds after every cast that ended up fouled after only a few cranks of the handle, so spent most of the 4+ hours using a weedless Moss Boss top water spoon - to no avail. Not even a sniff of a fish all morning. Oh well, it was a pleasant weather day besides the wind lashing, and even a bad day fishing is better than a good day at work. Hope everyone else is fairing better, I can't wait to get to my next vacation time and plan out another trip back to Kentucky Lake. (Haven't been zeroed there in over 10 years!)
