I tried the Maxrap in saltwater this past weekend. I paddled out to a sand bar and got out of my kayak in about 2 feet of water and began casting once I secured the kayak. Caught an inshore lizardfish. Believe me when I say that I am not bragging about that. They are aggressive pesky fish that give a little excitement, then disappointment when you see what it is. The fun part was on one of the casts I noticed some additional wakes on the return and when it got close enough I saw that there were about 6 mullet that decided to school with the Mazrap. I hated to pull the bait out of the water. Convinced me that I just wasn't casting in the right place since the baitfish were convinced it was one of their own kind. I'll be trying again next weekend!!

I live in Eastern NC near Greenville,NC (Home of East Carolina University Go Pirates!!) Takes me about an hour and twenty minutes to get to the beach. I have a mobile home at Atlantic Beach. I have access to the sound where I kayak fish and I am three blocks from the ocean beach where I go surf fishing. I'm lucky enough to have friends with ocean going boats so I can get my fix offshore fishing for mahi & tuna every now and then. If not with them then there are plenty of charters available.
