Hey guys, i was just wondering if any of you guys have seen, bought, or even tried the new Twitchin' Rap lures. They look like they would be a killer for bass, and pretty good for small pike. I am hoping to buy one of these new guys up at Gander Mtn. on presidents day weekend, and cant wait to try it out!

nathen,
No I hadnt seen them in stores yet but they are already available from BassPro and Cabelas from what I understand. It looks like they are primarily marketing them as saltwater lures, but they are cool as hell.
I wouldnt be surprised if they make a smaller model in the future, then later on stick a prop on it and then get rid of the existing Skitter Prop line, which desperately needs more colors and/or marketing...just my 02...

Would you happen to know if they would have them at Gander Mtn. stores? I havn't been to it yet this year, but i assume that they have the 2006 lures in stock now.

I dont know to tell you the truth - I live in NJ and there arent any Gander Mtn. stores in the state. Is there one nearby you? Because maybe you can do me a favor.... Recently Gander Mtn had a selection of special limited edtion Shad Raps only available through Gander Mtn, and maybe Bass Pro shops... I dont remember the color codes offhand...maybe you can check the store for me the next time you go! ;D

I live near Gander Mtn. though I haven't been in in weeks. The five colors of 25th ann. are
BHT Blue Hot Tiger PKP Pink Pearl RHT Red Hot Tiger SST Sunset Tiger PRP Purple Pearl
I think they are still on the shelves. Give a shout out if you want any.

There is a Gander Mtn. where our cottege is in Michigan, and they still have the 25th ann. shad raps too. I really hope they go on sale, are these a good collecting lure?

I supsect the will be collectible. Unfortunately, the market is inundated right now so I would say more along the lines of 5 years or so. The shad rap has historically been a line that increases its value well. IMHO.

So, has anyone yet to buy, or even use a twitchn rap yet? They have been out for almost a year, and no one ever talks about them on here.

I bought all of the US colors, and tried them out briefly, but didnt have any luck with them as of yet. They are definitely cool as hell, and I love the action on them. They are almost like a hybrid topwater/suspending bait, as it seemed to me that they have that neutral buoyancy to them.
Im definitely looking forward to using them again.

They defenently sound pretty cool, but seem more like a brackish saltwater lure.

If your gander mtn is like mine, they prolly won't have em. For 4 friggen weeks they haven't had the SSR5 or 7 in gold, nor have they had the JSR in FT. They don't even have any snubbers in stock and it is so friggen close to Sept. 30 minutes from lake Michigan and they have no snubbers. WTF! Atleast in November BPS is opening on the lake with a marina and this fall Dicks is being opened in the mall. Sweet dreams gander ;D

Sweet success on the Twichin' Rap in Florida for me this year. I caught ladyfish, seatrout, and bluefish on the copper color in about 5 - 10' of water. It's very easy to use, and the fish go crazy for it. I just bought 2 new colors at Bass Pro Shop the other day. I can't wait to try them out in freshwater when spring comes.

I just tried the new x rap shad size 8. Didn't catch a thing. All it did was slide on top of the ice
