Everyone around here knows how much I love the Minnow Raps, and is probably tired of me saying so! So I'll used that a lot, along with the Thug for sure - but do not forget about the Flat Rap #10! These lures cast a mile and look great too! Also cant wait to try out my silver MaxRap too...

Everyone around here knows how much I love the Minnow Raps, and is probably tired of me saying so! I ain't tired of hearing it!! Just picked up a mr-9 in perch and silver!! If I cant make those colors work for me I may be a lost cause on the minnow rap. Pretty sure I can make them work though!! Now I just got to wait for this damn snow to melt to give them a try. Also got my first glass fat rap. the original fat rap in perch is one of the lures that turned me into a rapaladdict as a teen!!!

I have no idea how it works on other lakes, but that silver MR-9 has caught me more fish in one year on this lake than I have caught in the last 10 years. (Let's just say I did have a pretty big fishing 'hiatus' at one point in my life!) If you go back and check my previous posts Ive made in the 'fish stories' section you can just see them for yourself - funny thing was I wasn't too high on them when they first came out either...

Mostly the Original Floaters in F-7 through F-13. Of course the Husky Jerk, Glass Fat Rap and Skitter Prop are on my go to list also.
Years ago the J-9 was one of my favorites and very productive. Maybe I'll throw it more in 2010!

My all-time favorite fishing lure is the Shallow Shad Rap. The Shallow Shad Rap has caught me tons of largemouth bass. My personal best largemouth bass was caught with a SSR-7 P which weighed 8.26 pounds. Last year caught my new personal best chain pickerel with a SSR-7 SH which weighed a perfect 3 pounds. 4 of my top 5 largemouths have been caught with the Shallow Shad Rap. I have caught tons of calico bass with it too. Fish I have caught with the Shallow Shad Rap include largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, chain pickerel, rock bass, grass pickerel, rainbow trout, brown trout, brook trout, yellow perch, white perch, calico bass, bluegill, pumpkinseed, redbreast, bluefish, striped bass, and northern sea robin.

glidin' rap is a must, i done really well on shallow shad raps, and my countdown magnum produces loads of small fish too Other good lures that aren't rapala are storm wildeye 6in roach (it's kinda rapala), fox micro jointed dolphin, savagegear 4-play.

I think it depends on the fish species and the locale. When I get the chance to fish bass on WI lakes I have the best luck with the original floater in silver. When I go down south bass fishing every summer its the DTs that produce best. That's why everyone should have at least one of each type of Rapala in their tackle box! You never know where you might find yourself fishing, or what you might be fishing for!
