Lure catches Lambeau lore
Lambeau Field now has a lure to go along with its lore.
The Rapala Group, based in Vaasky, Finland, with U.S. offices in Minnetonka, Minn., has produced a fishing lure with the Lambeau Field logo.
Tracey Wehrs, business development coordinator for Rapala-Normark Corp., said 10,000 lures were custom-ordered by Mills Fleet Farm.
Apparently the lures, which are being sold for $6.99, are being snapped up by anglers and collectors alike.
“Mills Fleet Farm has ordered 10,000 more lures,’’ said Wehrs, who pointed out that the company has done several other sports-related custom lures.
The Lambeau Field lure, which is assembled in Estonia, comes with facts and figures and history of the stadium.
John Jones, chief operating officer of the Green Bay Packers, said a number of companies, such as Associated Bank and Sargento Cheese, have been using the Lambeau Field logo.
“Mills Fleet Farm’s use of the logo is just another example of Packers’ partners being able to highlight their businesses and the unique appeal of the logo,” he said.
