Hi folks, not so long ago, in a store, I went through a pile of lures that were on sale. Between the garbage they mainly sold, I discovered two Rapala Skitter Walk 11 cm (Salt water) in BKCH. Since I was planning on experimenting with surfacelures (I had never caught a fish on a surfacelure), I took 'em both for € 8,00, which now is approximately $ 12,25. Surely on the first evening I went fishing with the newbaught SSW 11 BKCH, I caught a 80 cm long pike, which struck the SSW upto two times before nailing it finally, leaving me with a couple of hartattacks. After that, I had a few more strikes at them, but due to my own fault, I wasn't able to hook 'em correctly. A new addiction has now spawned in me. Because my wife Janneke fishes also, I wanted to get my hands on some spare SSW BKCH. After a short while I was able to get my hands on some, but not after being told this color SSW has been made in limited numbers. Is that true? I saw one on eBay for $ 6,50. That would implicate they aren't all that special, are they?

Okay, thanks. Then I think people tell these stories like "Not in production anymore" just to prevent them from having to tell they don't have it in their selection. It's a common thing here in NL.

Hi Peter, hi Jason.
i have heard this "not in production" many times. usually, you see it on ebay, because people hope to get a better price this way. sometimes you hear it in a shop, and sometimes it is true, but these people are not talking about production, they are talking about supply to a specific country. the best and latest example is the F18. the first catalog to come out in 2008 without it was the GERMAN, and now it is not listed anymore in SPAIN, ITALY, FINLAND (!!) and many other countries in europe. most shop owners even didnt notice yet. then we have the TEAM ESKO. in the states this is officially discontinued, the last year for the TE7 to show up in a catalog was 2003. the same here in germany, but in many other countries across europe there are still 8 colors of team esko listed, even in the 2008 catalogs. one more is your beloved HUSKY. still listed in some scandinavian catalogs, and you should see the picture Jason sent me recently, you will not believe ... this would go on for a while, but i guess you know what i mean, most tackle shops call it out of production when it is not listed in their catalog. according to this, more than 50% of the colors never have been produced, because they were never listed. look at H13 or TE7 again, and 99% of the shop owners would not believe that more than 15 different colors exist in these models.

p.s.: by the way, i think i have one of these SSW11 BKCH here. just let me know if you want it.
