Okay, I finally decided to separate my RFR from my FR and see where I stand. Actually, I was just displaying them and put the RFR lures to the right In size 7, the old CW color is a non-rattling lure. In size 5 of the same color, it rattles. I am sure someone has a damn near complete list of RFR and FR lures out there. If they wouldn't mind sharing, I would appreciate it. I think I am doing well with my fatties, especially since I don't collect the shallow or the deep variations. Got my old school balsa perch in today..SHARP! I do need to upgrade my old school GFR balsa.

Actually, Im pretty sure they made the FR-5 in CW a regular, non-rattling version. But I'll have to give my ole Fat Raps a shake to make sure, lol

Fishooked is right-The #5 came in rattlin and non-rattlin in the old color. The #7 is like this also. Comparing mine side by side (#5 rattlin and #5 non-rattlin) the rattlin seems a bit wider than the non rattlin version. Man I just typed alot of rattlin

Lesson 3 of the day....
How do you know if your Fat Rap is older???
I know this to be on the Fat Rap series (not sure about the others, RFR, DRFR)
Look at your Fat Raps, lay them out... Notice anything....
Ok, still looking, I'll wait.......
hmmm, hmmm, hmmm (sip of coffee) hmmm, hmmmm
Notice anything.... Ok, here a hint, it's not the color pattern always that gives it away...
Hmmm, hmmm hmmm (another sip of coffee)
Ok, times-up..
Look at the lip, notice anything... I believe that the older versions have more of a srtaight lip, I think you'll notice the difference, some have a more V shape than others.
Have you looked at your Fat Raps? do you have both V-shaped & 'straight' lip
Just a little piece of info I thought I'd pass along.
(Background noise of guys running to their collection to look)

Yeah Steve I first noticed this when I was looking at salmon special fat raps and comparing them to mine. I don't know the yeart that the lip switched but it has switched to the V you mentioned from the flat lip of old.
