Gents, Hadnt seen or come across one like this before. Its an old RH CD-14, but with a silver body: Now do all magnums have 'even number' body sizes? I never really paid attention before....

Magnums are all over the place in length. I've seen 5,7,8,9,10,11,13,14,18cm. They are about impossible to collect because of all the sizes.

Sure I'll grab some cool specials here or there, but I just don't know what it is about magnums - or saltwater lures in general - don't seem to have a high collectibility value - just my 02. I just hadnt seen a RH with the silver body - Im not as familiar with the old Rapala stuff as some people, so I just picked it up for the hell of it.

Hmmm, Interesting??? I'll add my 2 cents (before taxes that is)
Yes Magnums have come in a lot of sizes & color patterns. Some are very sought after.
if you look at the early magnums #18 & #13 and make sure they have the 'right details' they can bring in some nice prices.
What makes magnums difficult, is what people think are the older ones.
I know of 4 to 5 people that snap up the older magnums every time they hit ebay.
I think the problem is, information about them. What would you look for if you were going after early magnums? What details would the lure have for you to think it was an early magnum?
Another tid-bit, I think the lack of boxes when it comes to this series, hurts this series. Think about it, You've got a 7 inch bait along with the box Are you going to keep the box in the tackle box? I don't think a lot of people kept the lure box.
Again as I look at this series, I believe that the "Older Magnums" are quite collectable.
As for the picture you posted Ted, nice looking lure. Now if that same color pattern was on, lets say The 'first version' metal lipped magnum series it would be a GREAT find.
That seems to be another problem with the magnum series, the number of versions (Hardware that is)
I know of 4. (basic, there are some slight varitions in a couple of them)
First plastic lipped version, Metal lipped, barrel line tie version, Metal lipped, split ring lie tie version and the current plastic lipped version.
then try to figure out the model sizes and color patterns for each version. Add in the Oversea's sizes and color patterns And this series becomes quite an overload to figure out.
One last thing, How many color patterns did the 'first version' plastic lipped magnum come in? Both in the floater and countdown model. (I think you'd be suprised by the number of color patterns)
But that just my 1.5 cents (Remembering thats after taxes)

Lure 999, yup, that's right 3 color patterns! now, of those 'early magnums'
How many do you see in the box?
I've been looking for a magnum cd-13 (first plastic lipped) in a correct box. I'm still looking.....
Also what style of box would you think they came in!
I have a couple of the #18 floater Mag's in the older 'oval' rapala logo on the sides of the box.
Do 'we' think this would be the same style of box for an early cd #13 mag?
With only the 3 color patterns for early Mags, you would think it would be pretty easy to finnish off collecting that part of the series. I think it's the lack of boxes that makes finding them harder.
