In the smaller town that I grew up in and currently live in only had small sport shops where you could buy lures. My questions is was the CDJ sold in the US or was it only sold outside the US? Until ebay I never seen or heard of them.Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

Hi Steve The CDJ have been sold here in the states since the real early 80's . Not sure exactly when they stoped .
Seems as though not many stores carried them over the years . I get a lot of emails questioning me on CDJ's . Where they came from , am I sure they are sinking etc ....

Hi Jason, Thanks for the info.I know that none of the stores carried them up here Thats one downfall about living in the sticks, you never get any good stuff. Steve

I had heard that they shipped some in to places like Cabelas. Like a one shot deal. I might be thinking the CDSR though. I know I used to be a fanatic about looking at every bass pro catalog I got in the mail and drooling over the things I knew I could never afford. Don't recall seeing them in there, but that doesn't mean they weren't there...not like I was collecting back then....if I was, I would have a basement full of the rare stuff lo..

I was the same way with the Bass Pro catalogs also wish I started collecting Rapala's back then.Would have a ton of stuff now.
If I only knew what I know now would have bought every Fat Rap I could.FatRaps are one of my go to lures for Walleye's.The FCW seems to work the best for me.

Yes, At one time mant many years ago cabelas was selling CDJ-7-9-11, Only in a very few colors,Thats where i started out buying what i could get my hands on, Then i went to a tackle dealer about fifty miles away from me to see what he could do for me, It took him a month and he got his hands on about twenty diffent colors in CDJ -7-9--11, I bought everything he had, Why not back then they each sold for $4.50-$5.50, Now look what they are selling for, and people thought i was nuts to buy so many, If the CDJ was not so rare mine would hit ebay,

Oh Ya one more thing, This tackle dealer got me a shit load for fatraps & shadraps, Lots of nice colors, I am glad i bought alot of Rapalas early on, there made of wood, Now they are trying to find the easy way out of making, Plactic, What happens to one of those when they hit the rocks, there done for, the wooden ones hit the rocks and you have some marks,

I have almost 100 of them, and I still need a few more of the rarer ones. If I knew then what I know now, I wouldn't have put my money into Rapala, try Microsoft LOL.
Going to have to try a FCW FR5 next walleye trip...

The FCW color outfished the other Fat Raps I use 3 to 1.I think its the greenish color on the back.I know its not a Rapala but the Rebel crawfish is a absolute walleye killer,(2nd goto crank).
