I was just reading a couple of posts which mentioned the SSR-14 being discontinued is this true?
I thought to myself the other day if Rapala is making J-5's out of plastic which is one of their smaller lures why would they still be making the SSR-14 from balsa.So far we heard the F-18 is gone this would not suprise me if the Super Shad Raps are next.This is a big chunk of wood.

Hi Steve.
i think Jörg was specifically talking about the SSR14 in color NP as discontinued, not the whole line of super shads;
on the other hand, thinking about your comment, lot of wood, i would not be too surprised if this was the next big wood lure after F18 being discontinued ...

Some very productive colors has gone and maybe come back, maybe...
They'd just started the new printed colors (BRP, HTP,TPT, PCBG...) and made some specials so the whole balsa forest area must go into ashes to stop this line. Don't forget the other woodbaits like Magnums or Slivers but I think they are made from other wood than the SSR's.

Hi Jorg I really hope Rapala keeps the Super Shad as I have found the SSR-14 GF (thanks Wolfgang) to be a Muskie killer.  Steve |

ahhh, a muskie angler!!! At least you're not one of those little trout anglers from the west coast  I am hoping they put it out in hot steel color. that is an awesome fishing color. |

If a person hasn't fished for Muskie yet they are missing one heck of a rush.I used to fish mostly for Bass but while fishing topwaters for them I had a Muskie blow up on my lure.It probably took about 5 years off my life as it scared the shit out of me and I've been hooked ever since Forgot to mention I think Muskie eat Trout for lunch |

Yes I did mean to say what you said.I had a brain cramp last night and couldn't remember how to spell breakfast.

As proof that people are reading this board... 10 days ago my local dealer had a good supply of SSR-14s, including 3 or 4 in Nordic Perch. I went back yesterday and they were ALL GONE!  |
