I just saw a fat rap salmon special 7 in sfc going for about $150 on ebay, with a day still left. That got me thinking, what was the most anyone has ever heard of a single rapala selling for?

It's really hard to tell sometimes. It's auctions like that make me happy I don't attempt to collect anymore. Each auction is its own individual animal, depending on end time, # of like lures on during the same time period, and lure quality & rarity. Sometimes you just never know. Of course it could always be an old fashioned bidding war too.... who knows...

Not to sure what the most I have seen one go for . But I think it was an auction I had up for some HJ 14 OCW's . It was a multiple listing auction . And the guy accidently put in $ 1400 instead of $ 14.00 . So needless to say i sold $ 2800 worth of lures that day LOL ! The guy actually wrote me trying to explain him self . I just laughed .. Yah Yah... I no you didnt mean to put in that high of a bid LOL . I wish he had though ! Other than that Id say Im probably guilty of buying the most single expensive Rapala lure on Ebay . At least that I no of . Not really at liberty to say . But my SFR 7 PW ... Was not cheap . There may be a higher purchased . I just dont no about it . And no its not some thing im proud of . I was and still am happy that I got it . But Bidding wars are a thing of the past for me .

my record is $100 for a rapala sold, personally, my record bought is about $60. i did just see a prototype h-13 go for $200+ a week or so ago, also have seen other salmon specials go over the $200 mark in the last few years. think i remember a $400+ lure some years ago, anyone help me out here. not bad for lures that are less then 40 years old.

i do hate the fact the ebay has hid the bidder user name, they say it was to protect the bidder, but like everything ebay does, its to make them more money. it prevents people selling to buyers they know are intrested without posting an auction. but it also prevents me from knowing when im going up agianst Jason and just not even bother i do kind of miss the bidding wars, at least from a sellers point of veiw, sniping now rules the last seconds. bacon

Sorry, forgot i asked this question, but thanks for the info fellas. I could only imagine some young kid unknowingly taking his dad's $400 rapala and breaking it off on a stump or something!!
