Those Salmon specials were made for Saltwater fishing . The only thing different is the hooks and split rings . Both are Stainless . Hmm the hooks might just be coated . Its the box thats worth all the money

And BTW .. There could be more to the Salmon Specials . If there is other input , Id love to hear it . I do know that the lips read the same as normal Fat Raps .

The Guru would be a good person to chime in on this one ... Where is the Guru any ways ?
OK Qbert ... How about the middle of the totem pole . Then I could be upside down or right side up : )

No Shallow runner Salmon Specials ....
Many of my old Raps and some of my proto's dont have any thing on the lips . So it wouldnt suprise me if there were shallow Fats the same way .
In fact , I actually think some of those new proto shallow fats I got a few months ago didnt have any thing on them . Have to go check .

Any ways . Salmon Specials only came in the flat / matte finish . If you have some that are glossy paint with the stainless hardware . Id say there is a good chance its just some baits from Japan . Many of there baits were equipped for the salt water . Dont think there's a whole lot of fresh water to fish there .

i have to say that i agree with jason on that one, all of the SS's ive seen are in that same early period paint jobs, goes along with the early oval boxes, but there is something that sticks in the back of my mind about later model SS's. when i bought my dealer box, i bought it from a guy that went by mr fat rap, i should remember his real name, but it escapes me right now, im sure jason knows who i mean and would have a contact to him maybe. but i wanna say that he had a box of fat raps that were marked on the end not with the FR-5 SFC, but rather the SS-5 SFC, but had the traditional black rectangle label, not the red oval. maybe im remember this wrong, its been a long time, i know at one time im was sure i had seen a fat rap in FT but back was blue instead of green, but ive never seen one, so im guessing i might have dreamed it or just plum made it up, so my memory is never to be taken as gospel.
sorry for the delay in response, i had to do some looking, but its been a tough week. my grandmother finally passed away, and we had funeral things going this week so far. But were finally getting past that now after today. at least it will be alot less stress on the family now, at least after a fashion.
