Well I know we all love lures ;D so I'm sure you all have got a boat you go fishing with.
Right now I've got a 14' Lowe Semi-V...bow mounted MinnKota 40lb Powerdrive on the front & 36lb Endura on the back. I mainly fish electric only lakes so I haven't used my outboard in years.
I'll have to post a pic of it when I get a chance...

I have a choice to make, I have come across a 2001 Lowe sea nymph 14' deep V with a 2001 johnson 9.9 and trailer. The boat was owned by the local marinas's head mechanic. He is offering this package to me at a very good price. (approx US $1700) Does anyone have anything good / bad to say about Lowe or Johnson? Ther are no dent or dings and there was never an attempt to modify it with homemade crap (I think we have all seen botched attempts to build consoles, center station, live wells etc.) This could be the replacement for my tired crestliner, but probably being the last boat I buy I just want to sure. (due to Canada's boating regulations, 9.9 hp is what I want to stick with. Any higher and registration, operator cards and age resriction factor in to the picture and it is important to me to be able to allow my son to drive.

That sounds like a great deal to me, I would jump on it.
The 2002 9.9 motor alone is worth more than the whole package!
I've actually modified my boat to include a casting deck, so I can have some storage underneath. I think it came out pretty good, I'll have to post some pics when I get a chance. Considering what the boat looked like before, anything is an improvement!

I fish a lot from shore but do have a small boat for getting around the local musky waters. Wouldn't want to describe it for fear some of you wannabe's would be trailing around behind me trying to figure out what type of lure I was using to catch fish. Next boat will be a Lund Prov somewheres between 18 and 20. Shane

Well Guys, all things being equal, I finally got the boat. Not the one I expected but too hard too refuse. It is a 1968 FG built in Winnipeg Manitoba by Prarie Plastics Ltd. I have purchased it from the original owner. Original trailer (tilt) and motor. Electric start, 40 hp Evinrude Lark lll, camper top, sleeper seats. etc. all in mint condition. I am having a new top custom made as we speak. Runs like new, gets up to plane almost immediately, original speedo, temp guage. Poor old guy (89) had heart problems and a new pacemaker limited his fishing. No kids or anyone to take care of it. 30 years of Air Traffic Control took its toll on him. The only stipulation was that I take care of his Boat. Picked up the whole works for $400.00. Does not even need paint. I will install a fish finder and CD/ Radio and now be the proud owner of a classic. I met him in a barbershop and before I new it we had struck a deal

well after seeing what all you guys drive on the water, i almost dont want to say, but i really want to drop the "mini fat rap" status, so i will let on about my boat. first let me say im young and dumb, the boat says the rest. i run a 1992 Gambler Intimidator (dale earnhart limited edition) 19.5 ft bass boat with a 2001 merc 200. the boat with the original 1992 200 motor would do 80+MPH, the 2001 motor was set up improperly and 55 is tops, i think i have melted down the impeller and its in the shop getting preped for the season, im hoping that a prop change and the tune up will get it running back in its full glory and smoking at at least 75mph. its fun to get to a touney and line up against nitros and rangers that have 200hp and even 250ph moters, let them get a head start and scream past them when there doing 60mph. a little fast for trolling my rapalas, but my other boat is a canoe of all things. as some of you know i like to fish the boundry waters in northern minnesota. lots of canoe only areas, very little fishing pressure, lots of large fish. quiet, beautiful veiws, plenty of wildlife. lets of work at times, but well worth working though a vacation. didnt get up last year but in 2002, my fiancee and i were up for a week, first night it was 17 degrees, last day it was 95. not for everyone, but that the way we like it. jeff
