ok, so i just noticed this on rapalas home site. did a quick look though the custom lure program page, and they are now offering a black pearl color only on the rattlin rap, and only in the custom printed section. kinda intresting i thought, i do all my own custom lure printing, but it would be kinda neat to latch onto a few of these. looks like pearl with a black back. I know you were just kidding with that hey lets all chip in line, but I do know that many groups propose lure designs to Rapala and even have them make some Specials for them. Maybe its something we could try to do here on this board if we could spark enough interest. My vote is for it NOT to be an RNR, no offense to those that love those things.

Or how about this idea. I seen a rainbow trout colored RNR. Looked damn awesome. Lets get a fat rap 7 or a shad rap colored like that. 5 of us drop 400 each and we are good to go. That would be 4 bucks a lure. I actually like the brook trout color better than any of the rainbow variations. To bad we couldn't ask them to make shallow fat raps in hot tiger |

i have considered several times to go ahead and order my own "special" rapala, and being that i do some printing on lures already(and for a LOT less then they charge) it seemed rather silly. but i really like that color pattern, maybe i should email them and ask if they can do a "no message necessary". some where i have a couple of RNR's in TR trout, one is a keychain, the other is on a display board in size 4. that is one of my personal favorite patterns on the RNR, in reality, its kinda dumb, but it just looks so nice on the lure. obtw, the reason you see so many printed RNR's, they have a larger, flat, side surface area to work with, maybe i will send some pictures of the ones i have done to you ted and have you put them up here.
