Hey everyone, Just got back from three dcays fishing for Walleyes on Devils Lake, ND. Figured I had to share this with all. We caught about 80 walleyes. Nearly every Walleye was on a #7 0r #9 countdown, or a #5 or #7 Shad Rap. I fished with my Brother, a friend from Fargo and three friends from SE Minnesota. Those three usually fish the mississippi river with lots of "Goofy" Stuff. I told them in several e-mails to leave that stuff behind and buy countdowns and Shad Raps. They didn't. They also didn't catch fish! Of the 80 Walleyes caught, My brother and I caught 70 of them. #7 countdown in black/Silver was *HOT*! Also SFC and Hot Steel worked well for me. Please look for a post I will put up later tonight. I need some help with identifying a color on a Countdown my brother had. We havn't seen one like it. It was a #7 Orange back, red head, silver sides? I believe. I am gonna have him call me with the colors for sure. He found it in a ma & Pa gun shop in Minneapolis. It has been on fire now for two straight weeks on Devils Lake. We will see next weekend if it produces again. The rear hooks are almost tore out of it! Later, Walleyekillers!

Hey-
If you don't mind me asking where do you reside Walleyekillers? You mention Devils Lake and that is the closest body of water to me that I have heard anyone speak of on this site. Sounds like you had a blast.

Hi Rapanatic! I live in NW Minnesota. A town of 1600 people called Ada. I have about 600 lakes within two hours of Ada. However, there is nothing close to Devils Lake. That body of water is unbelieveable! I only lost one lure there this past week, it was a #9 CD Black/Silver. It's hanging about three feet out of the water in a tree just off shore on the Grahms Island road. It was retrievable, but, the captain of the ship I was fishing from was pissed about his lack of success due to not using Rapalas, so he claim there were too many stumps. I just laughed at that, later of course. Now, if that was a CLN CD......I'm goin' swimming. I am thrilled to be a part of this board. I just came out of the closet and admitted to my love of the Rapalas. Actually, I think the hunt is what I love about collecting fishing lures. Ada is between Fargo and GrandForks, and then East on the Minnesota side about 30 miles into MN. I have a lot to learn about Rapalas, so I will be looking for some help from time to time. Thanks in advance! It's after 3:00 am so I'm going home now. Later......Walleyekillers!
