...with all the posts Ive been the past month or so. Each time I logon I see new members, which is good to see. Which has also got me to thinking about this whole Rapala collecting thing. Im not sure about everyone else, but this collecting hobby of mine is kind of pricey. I hadnt bought anything in months. I may need to personally revisit my collecting 'goal'. I think its basically impossible (unless youve got $ to burn) to collect EVERYTHING thats rare, discontinued, special, etc thats out there. I get overwhelmed when I think about it. So I may need to limit myself to certain lures lines and leave it at that. At least until I can afford it more. With that I may be liquidating some stuff...not sure when but you guys will know about it. See you guys soon

Hey keep me in the loop if you decide to liquidate. Some of your extras might fit nicely into my collection. Talk soon.

Your not supposed to think ahead when collecting lures, you just buy, buy, buy I dont really have to worry about spending to much money on rare Rapalas as long as i stay away from flea markets lol. But I only have about 10 lures that i actually keep in the box.

In all seriousness guys, I've got some financial burdens that I need to address. Collecting hasnt been (and probably wont be for awhile) a priority for me right now. With two small ones at home, the childcare costs, not to mention (gulp) college down the road, this diversion of mine has paled in comparison to more important issues.

Howdy "Fishooked"
I'll weigh in, with my personal thoughts.
All collections go thru changes and 'goal setting'
While I don't have kids & wife and all that comes with it.
I FULLY understand the 'family' thing.
This has been a rough year (family wise) here. Once something makes a turn for the better, something else comes up.
I too, haven't bought anything in some time. Trying to find extra time for 'anything Rapala' has become quite a chore.
When I do find time, I'm focused on duck hunting. (at least I have that time)
Overwhelmed.... I can hear that!!! On so many different levels......
Hang in there Buddy, Put anything into it's 'proper place'
Best Regards Steve Wight

DON'T THINK OF IT AS A LURE COLLECTION. THINK OF IT AS A COLLEGE FUND. MAYBE YOUR COLLECTION WILL BE WORTH ENOUGH TO COVER IT BY THE TIME THE KIDS ARE GROWN.

TED, I DON'T KNOW THE SITUATION THAT YOU ARE GOING THROUGH, BUT I WOULD SAY TO MAYBE JUST PUT THE SPENDING ON THE COLLECTION ON HOLD FOR A WHILE. DON'T DO ANYTHING DRASTIC WITH YOUR COLLECTION. WHAT YOU ARE FACING IS PROBABLY GOING TO CLEAR UP IN A COUPLE WEEKS AND YOU'LL BE BACK ON EBAY AGAIN BIDDING AWAY. JUST HANG IN THERE, BUDDY. EVERYBODY HAS TOUGH TIMES IN LIFE. NOBODY WANTS TO HEAR MY STORIES I'M SURE. I WAS ABOUT DEAD IN FEBRUARY, BUT I'M BACK COLLECTING AS FAST AS I CAN NOW TO MAKE UP FOR LOST TIME. TAKE CARE, TED.
