Well, squirrel season kicked off today in Indiana. Shot my limit and was back home by 9 AM. Not a bad two hours worth of hunting. Before you ask, these are fox squirrels, not the gray squirrels. And no, I don't squirrel hunt with a shotgun!! Next you will be calling me a trout fisherman Got my downriggers almost mounted btw ;D

Hey Bodeem: I has been 50 years when I hunded fox squirrel in Southern Indiana, would cut the tails off and put them on my bike. I had a 410 with a 22 on top, great gun. but can not remember what happen to it , would sure like to have it now. In Detroit they have black squirrels, but did not hund any.

December is such a great month for squirrel hunting. They are coming out of the woods and feeding in my picked soybean field. Hard to beat hunting in December. If the amount of fat on these squirrels are any indication of the winter that is coming, I will probably have to buy an electric auger lol.

I tried cooking them alive, but the damn things wouldn't sit still long enough for me to get the stuffing inside.

oh yeah, they chew up corn pretty bad, but a couple of plants along the edge of a 75acre field really doesnt even show up on the yield map. several years ago, while digging potatoes we had a bunch of ears of indian corn show up in the potatoes, i got thinking about it, knew the field, knew there was some corn out there, but was suprised to see it was indian corn. the year before there was a field of indian corn about 3/4mile though the woods from this field. I mean this was one industrious squirrel to carry an ear of corn that far just to bury it in another field and then forget about it.
