about a decade ago, the first long cast minnows sold in italy were that small (they were sold here to compete with some italian lipless minnows, and into the box they had a special instruction sheet, in italian, made in cooperation with a local fishing magazine).
then they stopped doing these sizes, and started doing bigger ones.
did they sell 3 and 5 cm in other countries too?

sorry if i answer only now, i'm quite busy these days i will do the photos asap, i should have both 3 and 5 cm around here i think it was an italian only serie, made to compete with some italian lures (the so called "filibustiere" and the "tramviere", both of them are lipless)

Definitely post pics if you could - this is the first I've heard of LC03s or LC05s - then again I think andy83 has a RNR03 somewhere...

Would have been cool to see though - you got everyone all riled up! in italy they sold those as long cast... i think they changed the name just for italy (they also put a special sheet, made by a local magazine and with instructions in italian, inside the box) well, if it's just a special countdown now i know where to look for similar ones out of italy

these are really light, it's hard to go deep. with a similar but bigger and heavier local lure (the "tramviere", it is from the area near milan), it's a bit easier.

what size does the long cast minnow (lipped version) go up to? i know a shop that still sells them, but i really want to buy the biggest size they make, because i know lures like these are designed mainly for bass, and most of the lures designed for bass are a little too small for what i'm looking for. Thanks for any help!

Thanks for any help! The Long Cast Minnow is no longer produced. it is still available on eBay and in some shops that have old stock. The sizes were LC08, LC10 and LC12. They are excellent for long casts and are shallow swimmers - 0.3m The LC12's are still quite easy to locate and are still reasonably priced.

I knew they were discontinued, and thats why i want to buy one next time i go over to the shop, but i had no idea about the sizes, which is why i asked, because it would be a waste of time going there, only to find that all the sizes are too small. Thanks again.
