I was wondering what any of you thought of trolling these in the skinny water for early summer walleyes? I have also been thinking weather the dives to part would hold true or what the dive curve would be. Just a thought.

Can't say I've 'trolled' the DTFAT-03, but if its anything close to the FAT01, the wobble might be way too wide to troll with?

IMO if it is in tune the wobble should not make it kick out. I would think you'd troll those slow? I would say 2.4 to 3.5 mph. Using a lure with the wide wobble you need to put the speed with them also to trigger the reaction strike. I guess I will have to buy 1 just to see how they would work.

I would think that these would work well at this speed.I remember trolling the Rebel Crawfish fast like this and had no problems.Like you mentioned Jeremy about the reaction strike.I caught more fish when trolling these faster. This past weekend I was using the DT-FAT03 to burn the tops of weedbeds for Bass and they worked great.I don't know how fast they were moving, but I was reeling as fast as my baitcaster would allow.

What is the gear ratio on your bait caster. If it is a high speed then you were getting in the 2 mph range. Thanks for the tid bit. I think I will have to give them a shot. The reaction strike is the easiest to do and so few people do it. When fishing is slow speed up.

Not sure about the fats but a friend of mine has great luck pulling the DT-7 flats on some lakes. I gave it a limited shot last year on a poor walleye lake to no avail. Things are smoking right now on another lake I fish but hey don't want anything other than #5 shad raps.
Might be good late in the season when the forage is larger and the pre-winter feedbag goes on.

The DT fat 3 goes to about 3 feet surprisingly, I noticed few rapalas I use go to the depths they are supposed to. I cant see it being much of a walleye lure though, mainly just bass/northern pike
