Guys, I want to start using Braid and need some inputs on Daiwa Samurai Braid, Power Pro and Suffix.
I am going to use the spinning reel for the braid.

I've only tried the Power Pro in red, and I was using it on one of my baitcasters trying to cast crankbaits with it. Entirely different application than your spinning needs, but for what its worth, I didn't like it at all. I know a lot of bass guys like myself swear by braid, but I shy away from it. What I do use for much of my spinning gear is Fireline Crystal. Great sensitivity, super thin diameter for its strength, and very good castability on spinning gear. The only considerations, similar to other braided type lines is it is difficult to cut, you'll need snips, and certain knots will slip, but I've had good luck with Palomar knots. Maybe some other 'nation members have some other opinions. Best of luck.

Power pro all the way. I use 50lb power pro for virtually all my lure fishing, never had 1 problem with it

I tried the sufix 20lbs with 8lbs pline floroclear using the surgeon knot last weekend. the cast was kind of 10-15 yards shorter compared to a straight pline floroclear 6lbs. Is that common that the cast will be shorter?

I dunno? Hopefully "Tom" can chime in for you "Compre". I never set my rigs up with leaders as such, so I have no experience in how it affects casting distance. I can tell you though, when I use straight fused line (Fireline Crystal) I can cast a "mile" with my spinning reels. I think partly because at 10lb. strength the fused line has the dimensions of 4 or 6lb. mono.

Powerpro is the only braid I use. Cannot beat the sensitivity and I`ve tried a fair bit. I tried Sufix and wasn`t impressed. Never tried Samurai though.

I might going to spool my other reel with a PP with the same pound test to compare the sufix and the PP side by side. On the side note, I found out the casting distance increased when I used Uniknots to connect the braid with the leader.

I like Power Pro and just ordered 500yds of 15# for my spinning rods along with a new fishfinder (humminbird 170). I had a color Garmin but itis to hard to see in sunlight and does all kinds of weird crap like stick on certain depths etc

power pro 50lb will be on all my reels as i wear out whatever is left. do have the crystal on a reel, and it works great...but it's highly visible underwater, and it ain't supposed to be. never caught anything on it, either...feels like it's dipped in wax or something. i DO like it, but it is visible. i use it for topwater and raise the rod while slow retrieving...

I found the one local store that carries the samurai braid, I guess I am going to spool one of my spinning with a 15# and see how it feels. Sufix tends to tangle at the rod tip occasionally, but it seems Power Pro is the way to go in the future.
