I own neither of these lures, although i will hopefully be getting a skitterpop soon. Just doing a poll on the effectiveness of these lures, because a lot of people have told me that the skitter pop is way better than the "prop? Both make very good noises, but im told the "pop is the best surface lure around, while the "prop barely catches. Anyone else found this???

I have been a big SP guy for years. I have about 15 different colors and have had success multiple times with most of them. I had on SPR for years and never caught a damn thing with it. Then, a few weeks ago, I picked up an SPR 07 in limefrog. First thing I noticed was that the blades on the newer SPR had a slight bend in them that the old one didn't have. The second thing I noticed was that the new one actually worked, and worked well!! I have caught numerous bass on that thing over the past few weeks, with several times that lure being the only thing that worked for me at all!!
My suggestion... Get both!!

Skitter Pop all the way I haven't had any success on the skitter prop. The skitter pop on the other hand....tons of success with the SP-7 It could definately be relative to the area you are fishing though. Keep that in mind.

I've had alot of success with the Skitter Pop, no luck with the Prop In about 3-4 ft of water, I would cast it into the lili-pads, pop pop pop then pause, and repeat. SP7 Firetiger is my choice

ok, thanks for the recommendations guys, i will get a skitterpop first, and then i'll get a skitterprop when i've got some money to spend. I will make sure i get the new skitterprop though I'm not too bothered about colours, because like i said, i don't think colours are important on surface lures because the fish can't see the colours anyway. However, i am gonna try and get the pop in clown, and the prop in lime frog

Skitter pop is my confidence bait for bass. I just got some saltwater skitter pops. I'm looking forward to trying them out.

Just ordered a SP07SB. Can't wait for it to arrive, and for the weather to warm up a little so the pike start hunting up in the water. I also got a pack of 3 storm 6inch wildeye shads in firetiger, and a rapala book.

I got my goodies yesterday morning, not bad considering i ordered them on tuesday night. The skitterpop looks great, and hopefully i will get to test it out on the weekend, its still a bit cold for surface lures, but if the fish are hungry enough i guess they will still take a surface lure. My other goodies are good too. The rapala book is very interesting, and provides lots of information about each lure, just a shame they didn't include a few lures (skitterprop and risto rap to name just 2). The storm shads look great as ever, and i know for a fact that they will see some toothy attention along the line.

tested it out today, looks great. Can't wait for the summer to arrive so the pike start hammering it!
