i fish in british columbia and enjoy trolling rapalas but my problem is i haft to take off the 3 prong hooks were i fish and go to singles .does this effect my lures motion, and what are the best rapalas to use for trolling for rainbow trout sure can use some help on this topic from you pros thank you erawn Attachments:

What size lures are you trolling, and what model?
I would think think might affect the lighter, smaller models first instead of the larger ones? Then again I am not sure since I have never tried removing any of the trebles before...

Me neither, I have never seen anyone ever fishing a rapala with a single hook. I guess u will have to just try a few and watch the results.

When you change from a treble hook to a single you will have to make sure the lure is in tune. The best hooks I have found are Aberdeen style. The longer shanks get away from the lure body and give you more room for hook ups.

here in europe many use carp fishing (european style) hooks when they can't use trebles. i don't know if they are available there too
