I had my eye on this for awhile... but this thing is frickin' HUGE! Holds 7 boxes...I wonder if it will be enough? There is an ebay seller in MN that still has them on hand for 49.99, a steal for this limited edition item, even with shipping...I'll let you know if all my Rapals fit in there

Seriously, That canoe holds all that weight? Be careful. I guess if you flip that canoe you can use the Rapala's as flotation devices.

my son (who was 6 mo old,so mostly my wife) got my the BIG Fleet Farm tackle box for fathers day, holds 8 of the big 3700 boxes, and 4-5 of the smaller 3600 boxes. now i can just put all my cranks in this bag and everything else in the other boxes i have still. thats on top of my river bag, and traveling bag, and the super trout box. kinda wish i have known about this one, it would have been a great add, and not that much smaller then the new fleet box, and about the same price. for as many tackle boxes as i have floating around, its really the damn rods that are the real hang up, at last count i have like 28 poles in the boat, in the basement, in the shed, on the patio, ect. and i know for sure there are a few of them still unaccounted for, i would feel bad and think they were stolen, but i know me, there probably stowed somewere at my parents still or i left them in a buddies boat or something. so until i get around to comfirming it, im not calling them stolen. i know i have a few that need repair, and a few more that stll need to be built, im still considering buying a good rod wrapper and doing it myself, since my brother never seems to get to making them for me. now all i need is a little time to use it all. ok a lot of time.

Jeff what make was the Mills Fleet Farm one? I would love to use this as a giveaway item, but there is no way I should ship it internationally, sadly. I don't think it would survive the trip...

Geez Bacon, Times is hard...NOT!!! 28 rods? Multiple bags and boxes? You can lose some and not call them stolen? You're my freakin' idol!! Man, I have two fly rods, two spinning rods, one ultralight spinning rod, a fly vest, and ONE, count 'em, ONE tackle bag. It fits over my shoulder in fact, and only carries 3 small trays. I'm such a weenie!!! Is it ok to say I only have maybe a dozen Rapalas? Tops? Is it still ok if there's multiples in there included in that dozen? Am I any better off if I say I tie my own flies? That's got to count for something, right? You guys are off the hook... ;D I had a Rapala strongbox tackle bag but it was too big. Besides, we're in bear country. You have to travel light so you can run like hell should you need to....oh, and you have to have a free shoulder for your rifle, just in case. As for rod storage, I started packing mine around in a piece of 2" ABS drain pipe. I glued a couple of threaded end caps on so it's still waterproof, and even floats! Lined with foam, the rods don't get banged around and the pipe is almost bulletproof.

I can't pack light...it would be like leaving behind my children! But I only have 6 rods, all spinning rods, I have 4 that come with me all the time. The ones I eventually disown end up on craigslist, I'm not one for clutter, for which my wife is grateful

Excellent way of keeping in the good graces there Ted...brownie points are never bad. I did an experiment one night when I went to the lake here after supper. I was feeling particularly exhausted from a crappy day so I packed the ultralight rod and only TWO, yes two Raps. An F-3 perch, and my trusty F-3 rainbow. Well, lo and behold, I did as well that night as any other with a mere pocketful of hardware. After that I did another experiment...one fly rod (5wt), and the fly vest (which is lighter than most). Only three flies...a bee, a mosquito, and a water boatman. Again, great fishing... After those two forays of light duty packing, I actually found it kind of liberating...so I got home and sorted out my tackle...cut it down by at least HALF. Now I'm super compact....and still catch fish. Who knows, maybe someday I'll restock, but for now I'm enjoying the whole traveling light thing, and no, I won't tell anybody's wives that it's possible...

Hahaha zeroroaster "superleggera"! I have the Rapala backpack and tackle bag combo. It came with two 3600 boxes, and I only have enough Rapalas to fill one (with room to spare) I saw a photo of someone here that labelled his boxes with something like "topwater", "shallow" and "sinking". I'm thinking of doing the same, and start filling those! ;D
