As the winner with a new hatcam, there comes a huge norther from a great reservoir with very stained water in Germany back in my mind.
It was in august '07 and I was fishin with my buddy. Some small pike an average perch took our lures. It was short after noon, as I was throwing a now discontinued medium runner Luhr Jensen Fingerling to a break line. The lure hits the surface and began to work down the edge.
A bend in the rod tip and the fish was on. Just in that time, maybe two or three seconds later a much harder 2nd bite came on and pulled my rod into half circle. With slow motion the fish tend to swim belong the edge and began to pull the boat. No way to stop em! I said to my buddy "Take the camera immediately and make some quick shots!"
After a few minutes the fish swam tricky around the boat a huge pike came up with another smaller one in his mouth.
But what's now? Let him go for a while and let swallow? No never. We tend pull em slow to the boat, but she began to shake her head. SPLASH!
No more tension in the line, and I reeled the "bait" back to the boat. After unhooking and measuring the battered northern was 53cm which make us believe the big mommy was at least 110, better 120cm in comparing with the photos.
Anyone else with such experiences?
